It has been approximately three weeks since I was sworn in as your new chief of police. Since that date, every community member that I have met has been exceedingly welcoming. I am extremely grateful for your warm well wishes and I look forward to becoming a part of this wonderful community. My wife, Letty, and I are buying a home in town and we expect to be moved in by the end of August.
You should know that the men and women of the Riverside Police Department, both sworn and civilian, are very well trained, extremely competent and most of all, completely dedicated to providing for your safety and helping Riverside’s neighborhoods become even more livable and attractive. As your police chief, my commitment to you is that I will help the members of the Department deliver on those values. My vision is that by continuously focusing on improving the quality of the product we deliver to you, by partnering with every group and individual who wishes to work with us, and especially, by always doing our duty with integrity, respect and compassion, we can regain the trust of the communities that we serve. Ultimately, my hope is that one day, when speaking of the RPD, you, the people whom we serve, will pronounce our name as “OUR P.D.”
We will be posting messages on this website on a monthly basis. If you see me around town, please stop, introduce yourself and let me know how we are doing.
